AMURT was one of the first global humanitarian relief organisations to be established in the majority world - setting up in India in 1965.

AMURT works in over 80 countries and presently has grassroots relief teams and development projects in over 30 countries. AMURT's greatest strength is its wealth of human resource, particularly their dedicated local staff and community of experienced, life-long volunteers - many of whom have sacrificed careers and material comfort to serve others.
